13. Innovative Delivery Strategies

Describe how the development and use of innovative strategies for the delivery of specialized or rigorous courses and curricula through the use of technology, including distance-learning technologies, will be encouraged, particularly in areas that would not otherwise have access to such courses or curricula due to geographical distances or insufficient resources (not applicable to Falmouth).
  • Director of Student Planning and Learning Options provides research and support for use of innovative strategies for the delivery of specialized courses and curricula through the use of technology.
  • High School Librarian support ATM room use.
  • Action steps:
      • See 05-06 planning template for Director of Student Planning and Learning Options
        • Investigate revising Falmouth High School schedule to provide more options for students.
        • Provide support for use of innovative technologies, possibly providing additional ed tech support.
        • Reduce costs by providing some web based options locally and join the Virtual High School in order to offer a variety of options to more students.
        • Pilot use of at least one web based course in 05-06 - (see resources).
        • Pilot and expand use (if recommended) of web based software that supports existing curricula - (Plato, Agile Mind)
        • Gather data on a yearly basis on use of technologies such as web based courses, web based support software, ATM courses, and distance learning courses.
        • Provide necessary professional support.
