Falmouth School Board Minutes |
Falmouth School Board
Workshop Meeting,
Monday, November 13, 2006
- The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. in the Falmouth High School ATM room. Present were Chairman Beppie Cerf, Linda Cote, Karen Farber, Beth Franklin, Kathy Hillman-Reed, Scott Lydick, Mark Terison and Superintendent George Entwistle.
- Policy discussion with Ann Chapman was moved to the November 14, 2006 Quarterly Workplan Meeting.
- The Superintendent and Leadership Council members (those with district-wide responsibility – B. Powers, D. O’Shea, P. Crowell, S. Palfrey) shared with the Board their on-going work of evaluating key district performance measures (as they relate to each of the district’s long-term plans). A “burning question” and “data-mapping” template were introduced. These “burning questions” serve as catalysts for data investigation/analysis – the answers to the burning questions provide evidence of the progress being made on the organization’s goals. An opportunity was created for the whole group to “dig in” to a collection of data related to academic performance of boys vs. girls. The principals will briefly give an overview of their work with burning questions at the December 4, 2006 Board Workshop.
- Mrs. Hillman-Reed with a second from Beth Franklin motioned the Board enter Executive Session to discuss the evaluation of Superintendent pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(A). The motion passed 7-0. The Board entered Executive Session at 8:36 p.m.
- Mrs. Franklin with a second from Mrs. Hillman-Reed motioned the Board adjourn. The motion passed 7-0. The Board adjourned at 9:57 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
George H. Entwistle 3rd
Secretary
