Falmouth School Board
Workshop Meeting
Tuesday, October 4, 2005

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. in the Falmouth High School Room #153. Present were Chairman Beppie Cerf, Linda Cote, Beth Franklin, Kathy Hillman-Reed, Mark Terison, Student Representative Rachel Bennett, Superintendent George Entwistle and approximately 10 others (Farber, Lydick, Murry out).

2. Review of Policy JICH-Student Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Use and Policy JICI-Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities Code of Conduct: Public discussion focused primarily on Policy JICI-Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities Code of Conduct. Specific aspects covered related to student self-reporting of a violation, consequences for 2nd and 3rd offenses, duration of student contracts, loss of student leadership positions, and the duration of time over which offenses could accumulate (vs. having a ‘clean slate’ at the start of each new school year). Revised drafts will be created and shared. A second reading of both policies is tentative scheduled for October 17, 2005.

3. Board Development
Topic: Overview of the Budget Development Process: This item was postponed.

4. Adjournment. The meeting adjourned at 8:36 p.m.
