Falmouth School Board
Special Meeting
Monday, April 10, 2006

1.         The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Falmouth High School ATM Room.  Present were Chairman Beppie Cerf, Karen Farber, Beth Franklin, Kathy Hillman-Reed, Scott Lydick, Mark Terison, Student Representative Chris Murry, and Superintendent George Entwistle (Cote, Bennett).

2.         Final Review/Approval of the 2006-2007 Budget for the Falmouth Public Schools:  Mr. O’Shea explained the ’07 Budget Summary that had been e-mailed to Board members (with copies distributed to those present at the meeting).  He reviewed the development sequence for the budget and the proceedings of the last few meetings with the Board and answered some questions from Board members.

            Mrs. Cerf surveyed the members of the Leadership Council and School Board members to ascertain their general sense of the budget as presented.  Leadership Council members and School Board members generally agreed that the process was productive and that the final product is one that is reasonable, fiscally responsible, and defensible.

            A motion was made by Mrs. Hillman-Reed “that the Falmouth Public Schools Board adopt the FY’07 budget as presented representing a 4.46% increase over FY’06 and is in the amount of $23,681.877”.  Seconded by Mr. Lydick, the motion passed 6-0.

3.         Adjournment:  Mrs. Farber with a second from Mrs. Hillman-Reed moved the meeting adjourn.  The motion was approved 6-0 and the meeting adjourned.
