Falmouth School Board
Workshop Meeting
Monday, November 1, 2004

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Falmouth High School library. Present were Chairman Beppie Cerf, Steve Brinn, Linda Cote, Truth Holden, Susan Nevins, Kathy Hillman-Reed, Mark Terison, Superintendent George Entwistle (Sinnett and Murry out)..

2. New Business
a. Consideration of the Superintendent’s nominations for Schedule B Positions for the 2004-2005 school year: Mrs. Hillman-Reed with a second from Mrs. Nevins moved the Board approve the Superintendent’s nominations for Schedule B positions for the 2004-2005 school year. The motion was approved 7-0.

7:15 p.m. – Workshop Meeting

3. Comments from the Public: A parent asked for an update on a fundraising effort. The Superintendent advised the parent that that particular activity would be discontinued and donations would be returned to donors.

4. Community Dialogue: Superintendent Entwistle provided an update to the Board on the work that the Leadership Council has been engaged in synthesizing data from the Community Dialogue. The Board then looked at the ‘Summary of Five-Year Outlooks’
representative of each dialogue that took place on October 8th. Concurrently, the Board, the Leadership Council and a small group of parents engaged in an exercise of consolidating ‘outlooks’ into goal areas. All participants came together after working in their respective groups to consolidate their findings/recommendations. All agreed it was an informative and productive workshop. The final product will serve as the framework for action planning.

5. Adjournment: Mrs. Holden with a second from Mrs. Hillman-Reed moved the meeting be adjourned. The motion passed 7-0 and the meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
