Important Info: Microsoft recently released Office 2007 which incorporates a new file format that is not yet widely accepted for cross version usage. Please ensure when saving documents, that they are saved to be compatible with previous versions (2000, XP, 2003). The document type can be determined by it containing an "x" as it's extension (Ex. .docx, xlsx, pptx). We strongly recommend Windows XP Pro Or Windows Vista Ultimate Edition/Business/Enterprise over other versions of Windows so that students can access the shared resources on the network (printers, files, etc). Windows Vista Home (Premium or Basic), XP Home, Media Center Edition, 98, and 95 do not have the necessary system components to access enterprise network resources. ** Any version of Mac OS X can access all network resources.** All distributions of the Linux operating system can access network resources.** Microsoft Office Equivalents OpenOffice – this is a free alternative to Microsoft Office if you do not have Office installed. You will be able to open and “save as” Office Documents:
