High School Goals
Falmouth High School aspires to
provide
a healthy environment where
all students and staff are safe, valued equally, and able to
experience the rewards of teaching and learning.
Five Year Goals:
Goal A – The local assessment system shall be fully
implemented for all content areas.
Goal B – Effective instruction and support will be provided
to ensure that all students have opportunities to meet standards.
Goal C – A safe and respectful environment will exist
that is conducive to teaching and learning.
Goal D- Support will be provided for all staff to participate
in professional collaboration to improve teaching and learning.
Goal A – The

Strategies for 2004-05
- Determine where each content area stands
- Develop, implement, and revise common assessments
(5 areas)
- Review data from common assessments (ongoing)
- Develop and implement replacement assessments
- Provide training to appropriate staff on validity/reliability
- Work with school board and policy committee on:
- Reporting
by standards
- Replacement policy
- Class of 2007
- Diploma alternatives
- Role of MEA in LAS
Goal B – Effective
instruction and support will be provided to ensure that
all students have opportunities
to meet standards.
Strategies for 2004-05
- Work with school board on the following:
- Student Response
system
- Summer school offerings
- Needs for students to meet standards
- Expanding summer
school offerings (electives)
- Review student data to inform instructional practices
- Continue to monitor learning lab effectiveness
- Use FHS research guide across curriculum
Goal C – A

Strategies for 2004-05
- Review mental health/ wellness issues of substance abuse/
stress issues for students
- Review expectations of students/ staff regarding:
- Tardy
policy
- Attendance
- Dress code
- Senior Privileges
- Lunchtime behaviors
- Discipline referrals / feedback
- Study hall guidelines
/ wandering
- Fully implement evacuation plan
- Discuss staff meeting decorum
- Develop plans to make advisory
meaningful for students
- Review our schedule to ensure student
needs are met
- Celebrating student and staff successes
