Glance through textbook pages before you read them in detail. Look
at chapter headings, highlighted vocabulary , introductory and summary
paragraphs, diagrams, and pictures.
Think about what you have previewed. Write down several questions you
think you will know the answers to after reading the material.
Carefully read the material to find the answers to your questions.
When you find an answer to one of your questions, stop reading and recite
the answer aloud. Continue to read until you have finished the assignment.
After reading the material, review what you have read. Skim through the
material and write down answers to your questions. Record any other interesting
facts you discover along the way.
