Announcements General Information

As the School Year Comes to a Close...

May, 2008

 Hello Elementary Parents!

It is amazing to me that this is the last newsletter from me to you.  Even though the winter seemed to drag on (and on and on), the year seemed to pass by very quickly!
If there is only one message you receive from this newsletter I hope it is one of appreciation and gratitude from the PTO Board.  There have been so many changes occurring within the Falmouth School System that it is very reassuring to find that the families are still committed to providing much-needed support to their child(ren)'s
schools.  Now if we could only get you to come to the meetings......
May you have a wonderful summer that lasts at least as long as the winter did.

See you at the Spring Fair---

Chantal

PTO Newsletters

The PTO publishes 3 newsletters each year filled with information about recent PTO activities, upcoming events and general happenings. Click a link below to view that issue (pdf format). We welcome your input, so if you have suggestions or topics for a future newsletter please contact a PTO Board member (see listing at right).

Want to Be Involved?

There are so many opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year that it can become overwhelming.  The PTO volunteer coordinators will work to match your interests and availability with a need.  Simply contact your school's volunteer coordinator: Elizabeth Gallup for Plummer-Motz and Christine Tenney for Lunt.

PTO Meetings

Parents are highly encouraged to attend the monthly PTO meetings. We're sure you'll find this year's topics both interesting and of concern as we strive to protect our children in the age of technology. In addition to an informative presentation given by an invited speaker at each meeting, the Elementary School principals will update you on what's happening in your child's school.  It's a great way to stay in touch while meeting other parents and school staff.

Why Do We Fundraise?

The Annual Contribution Drive (A.C.D.) and select fundraisers are the PTO's primary source of revenue and make it possible to lend direct financial support to our schools year after year. This PTO funding is used to sponsor elementary school activities and programs (enrichment), fund special requests from school staff (principals' funds), offset out-of-pocket expenses incurred by staff for the benefit of their classrooms (staff stipends), host family events and more.  The end result is an enhanced educational experience for our children in an environment that energizes and motivates them toward learning. It is your support of the PTO that makes all of this possible.
