We
recognize that "wellness" isn't limited to physical health,
but also includes mental and emotional health. Physical health and
mental/emotional health are inter-connected. High levels of stress
can affect our physical health, and our physical health can affect
our mental/emotional health. In order for staff to do their jobs
well, and in order for students to learn at their optimum potential,
we try to do what we can to provide stress reducers, and opportunities
to increase mental wellness.
Here are some
stress reducing/mental wellness activities at Lunt:

Left to right: Paula Kennedy, Secretary, Joyce Riley,
Office Manager,
Sue Raatikainen, School Nurse, Jenn Doe, Phys Ed Teacher, and John
Flaherty, Principal.
A great way
to reduce stress and increase mental wellness is through play, laughter,
and plain old having fun. Here is some of our staff doing just that
- clowning around.

What do we do
at Lunt when it rains and students can't go out to recess for a
much needed break? We give them a reading break!
Here Lunt principal
Mr. Flaherty reads to all our first grade students in the front
lobby on a rainy day. A very relaxing change of scenery!
